The word “diet” is usually associated with women, and a large portion of the special plans, books, and videos are geared toward women.  In light of the obesity problem in America and other studies, though, more and more attention is being paid to men’s health diets. The e-book
Grooming Secrets for Men focuses on men’s health diets that yield results.

The Why

Males have higher rates of heart disease, certain cancers like colorectal cancer, and cardiovascular disease than females.  They also have higher rates of death from these conditions.  At the same time, studies from the National Institute of Health in the USA have shown that men eat far fewer fruits and vegetables, foods that have proven benefits in fighting off some diseases.
The How
Men have traditionally avoided “diets” because of the language involved.  Concerns differ from those of women because the typical male is concerned with maintaining or increasing muscle mass and getting more energy.  Because of this variance, men have shown to do well on the high protein/low carb diets.  These plans allow for larger portions of meat, fruits and vegetables and nuts while limiting foods like bread, potatoes, and rice.

The What

Sticking with a specific plan for long-term maintenance also turns away many males.  Nutritionists are more inclined to recommend a combination of different men’s health diets to create a program that will be more appealing.  Combining high protein with high energy diets and a reasonable work out schedule has shown greater long term results than any one specific plan.

High energy foods are those containing B vitamins and often the most appealing for men: whole grains, eggs, milk, legumes, nuts, red meat and green leafy vegetables.  These same foods are the best providers of zinc, a nutrient that men require far more of than women.  A men’s health diet doesn’t have to mean he gives up all of his favorite foods.  Once started on a proper meal plan, he will probably find it less restricting than he fears.
